So I won NaNoWriMo this year, no biggie, just wrote over 50,000 words in under thirty days!
Pretty exciting stuff!
While we’re supposed to have sun through the rest of the week this afternoon while I was walking back from the office it started to rain! Wasn’t expecting that!
This morning Ryan and I went for brunch with Sydney and Dan at an amazing restaurant Dan told us about called Skillet.
I haven’t been in such a hipster atmosphere since being in University English classes!
We made our way to Capitol Hill (we carpooled) and Sydney went to put our names on a list, 40 minute wait!, while the rest of us parked the car
On the way to the restaurant we saw what seemed to be a street side art gallery
At Skillet while you wait you can go in and grab a cup of coffee to and take it outside until your name is called
Once we got in we got coffee refills and I got a tea
The water is served in Mason jars as was the grapefruit mimosa we all ordered
Dan also ordered the special drink but it was pretty terrible, no one drank it
I got a breakfast sandwich made of two pancakes, an egg, cheese and bacon with salad on the side and Sydney had the same thing
Ryan had the ultimate grilled cheese with a side of poutine
This time the poutine was delicious! I still wouldn’t say that it was a real poutine but it was really good anyway!
Dan had a blue cheese burger with a poutine as well
Perfect end to the weekend!
I know you’re probably shocked right now, I literally pass out while getting blood tests but today I got a tattoo!
See? I’m shocked too.
I had been wanting to do it for a while and today I finally got up the courage to do it! I went to this amazing place called Artful Dodger Tattoo and Comics
When I was looking for a place this one struck me as a lot more friendly, less intense and overall happier than some typical tattoo places. Also, they only do original art. The tattoo artists will not copy someone else’s tattoo for you or do “flash tattoos” (A stereotypical tattoo design printed or drawn on a cardboard poster for you to chose from) Not only that but for the past few years they have won the “Best of Washington” award.
I called and they told me to come in between one and two, so we made our way to Capitol Hill and waited
The place was really cool, not only did they have tattoo stuff but they also had shelves of comics and comic related things and a whole lot of Dr. Who stuff! I have a certain brother who would have loved it there.
Finally it came time to get tattooed! Ryan got to be both photog and the disposable hand aka he got to feel what my mom has gone through for years when I’m scared. His had was a bit damaged during the process.
I was so nervous but Ryan and the artist, Delany, were awesome.
Then we got home and I called my parents who once they believed me (Ryan and I kept laughing) were totally cool about it 🙂
I’ve recently discovered that Ryan makes amazing omelettes! Due to this I got him to make lunch today 🙂
Today I got a surprise in the mail from Ryan! He was hoping that it would have arrived on Saturday, alas it did not, but that’s ok! He ordered us Seahawks Jerseys!
Excuse the way I look I’ve been NaNoWriMo-ing like a crazy person all day so showering was as far as I went in terms of beautifying myself haha Ryan looks pretty good tho!
